Our budding green thumbs from our primary Gardening Club have been hard at work, learning how to care for God’s creation and growing delicious vegetables. From planting to watering and weeding, our students have shown wonderful responsibility as they’ve tended to silverbeet, snow peas, broccoli, and tomatoes. The garden is thriving — and our crops will be ready to harvest very soon! We can’t wait to share them with you.

We’re excited to introduce Loose Parts Play as part of our playground experience. So, what is Loose Parts Play? It’s a creative and open-ended approach to play where students use a variety of materials to build, imagine, explore, and invent. There are no rules or set outcomes—just endless possibilities! This type of play: 🔹 Encourages creativity and problem-solving 🔹 Builds collaboration and communication skills 🔹 Supports physical and social development 🔹 Allows students to take risks in a safe, supported environment 🔹 Reflects our belief in the dignity and potential of every child While students are free to explore and create, they are still expected to follow our school expectations and show respect for others and the materials. A staff member is always on hand to supervise, support, and interact with students—helping to guide play, encourage teamwork, and ensure safety. 🇦🇺🌺 ANZAC Day Liturgy 🌺🇳🇿 Today our school community came together in a moving ANZAC Day liturgy to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces. Through prayer and reflection, our students paid their respects to those who have served—and continue to serve—our country. We remembered with gratitude and prayed for peace, justice, and hope in our world. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." – John 15:13 Lest we forget. 🌺

Staff Development Days A friendly reminder Monday the 28th and Tuesday the 29th of April are Staff Development Days. Children do not attend school on these days. Children return to school on Wednesday the 30th of April. We can’t wait to see everyone!

🙏 Together in Prayer for Pope Francis 🙏 With heavy hearts, we join the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, who passed away on Easter Monday. As a community of faith, we reflect on his enduring legacy of solidarity with those in need and his tireless advocacy for the care of our common home, the Earth. 🌍💚 Catholic Schools in our diocese, united in prayer, honour the life and teachings of the Holy Father, who inspired us all to reach out in love and compassion, especially to the marginalised and vulnerable. 🕊️ Jack de Groot, CEO of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese, shares a personal memory from his time as CEO of Caritas Australia: "I had the great joy of meeting Pope Francis only a few weeks after he became Pope. On Friday, we celebrated Harmony Day – it was a wonderful day that allowed us to embrace the rich cultural diversity within our school, and we reflected on the message that “Everyone Belongs.” Our students and staff came dressed in vibrant orange or beautiful traditional cultural attire, proudly sharing a piece of who they were with our school family. The playground was alive with laughter and connection as we enjoyed outdoor activities that brought everyone together in the spirit of fun and unity. At the heart of our celebration was a meaningful Harmony Day Liturgy, where we gave thanks to God for the uniqueness of every person and prayed for a world filled with peace, acceptance, and love. Through faith, friendship, and understanding, we continued to grow as one united community. Thank you to all who helped make the day so special!

To mark Harmony Day, our Year 5 students took part in a special classroom activity that encouraged reflection on inclusiveness, respect, and the richness of our diverse backgrounds. Students came dressed in traditional cultural clothing or wore orange — the official colour of Harmony Day.

On Wednesday, our school community gathered together to pray and reflect on the incredible journey of Christ's sacrifice. Our students beautifully enacted the Stations of the Cross, bringing the story to life with reverence and devotion. It was a truly prayerful and special way for us all to come closer to the heart of the Easter story, reminding us of the love, hope, and sacrifice that define this sacred time of the year. A big thank you to our students and teachers, who made this meaningful refection possible. May Holy Week bring peace and blessings to all!
