Visited Parliament House this morning. We even got to participate in a mock government. Ayen was Speaker of the House, Kaiden was the Clark, Aarna was The Sargeant at Arms, Mitchell was The Prime Minister, Trey was The Leader of the Opposition, Jaide was the Sports Minister, Jeremiah the Shadow Sports Minister and Vincent was The Whip. We had to debate a bill put forward by Jaide proposing 3 hrs extra team sport a week for primary school students. We had lots of fun !

Year 3 had a fantastic time learning about Australia's Indigenous culture and traditions. We began our day with a smoking ceremony, which helped us to clear the air of bad spirits. We then had a chance to try our skills at Boomerang throwing. We enjoyed seeing who could throw it the furthest, while still having it return! We ended the day by looking at some bush tucker plants and other artefacts that are significant to Australia's Indigenous peoples.

The last place we visited today was the Australian Electoral Commission in old Parliament House. We learned about our democracy and held our own elections voting for our favourite fruit and how preferential voting works. Apples won !

Year Two have been working hard at completing their Stop Motion Literacy project. They have worked together in building lego creations whilst capturing the process through stop motion. They have then uploaded their stop motion film to Seesaw where they used adjectives, verbs and adverbs to describe their creations. We can’t wait to have the Year Two families join us on Seesaw next term to dive deeper into the children’s awesome work! --

St Joseph's students and staff celebrate Holy Thursday in quiet reflection with their classes. Students from K-6 presented images in the church of the Last Supper and embarked on a prayer walk through the church before being seated and listening to the Word of God led by Year 6 leaders. Happy Easter and God Bless

Year 6 students experience Encounter with faith
In mid-March, Year 6 students from 58 primary schools across the Diocese of Parramatta gathered in Penrith to participate in a new formation experience developed by the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Mission Team called Encounter.
