This term, Year Two have been learning about where the love of God can be found. After looking at how some organisations have reached out to their communities to help God’s love grow, we have reached out to our own local community to grow the love of God. We gave our time to make much needed play dough for the Junior Joey’s Playgroup. The Year Two SRC and other Year Two students took the time to visit the playgroup and deliver the play dough. During this time, the students spent time with the Junior Joey children, playing with the play dough and reading a story to listening ears. A big thank you to the Year Five students who gave up their time to assist the Year Two students in making the play dough.

Last Thursday four our year 6 student leaders attended the Education Mass led by Bishop Vincent at St Patrick's Cathedral. After the mass, our students presented their formation and outreach journey during the Mission Expo along with Our Lady of the Rosary and St Mary MacKillop. Our students then completed the final step of the Jesuit Refugee Service outreach and delivered all the food and grocery items collected from our families over the past term.

Congratulations to the Stage 2 and Stage 3 teams who attended the Parramatta Diocesan Netball Gala Day today. The girls played a full day of netball, stepping out of their comfort zone and scoring goals along the way. Fun was had by all and the girls did a wonderful job of working as a team.

On Friday as part of our Book Week celebrations, author and illustrator Dub Leffler visited SJK and shared his passion for storytelling through his stories and illustrations with students in K-6. The students were in awe of his drawings and were inspired to then have a go at creating their own masterpieces.
As part of our commitment to keeping students safe, all volunteers and contractors are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module.
