On Friday the 10th August our school's Faith Alive Team participated in the Winter Sleep-Out in support of the St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal.
Vinnies Sleepouts provide a glimpse into the realities of homelessness by ‘sleeping rough’ for a night to raise awareness and funds for Vinnies homelessness services. This experience challenged our students' sense of home and offers unique insights into the complex issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
The aim of the night was to help raise awareness of poverty in our community and give our students the chance to work towards a more just and compassionate society. We were thrilled to have a fantastic turn out with around 40 students in attendance.
The students participated in a number of faith based activities which included the packing of all the donations received by the whole school.
Thank you for the generosity all our St Josephs families have shown for such a valuable cause.

This term Year 6 has been focusing on developing their understanding of the effect of heat and cold in changing the state of materials when creating or modifying gelato. On Tuesday Year 6 spent time making the base of their Gelato and later that day they added ingredients to create a new flavour.

Friendly reminder that school photos will be held tomorrow. If you have purchased a sibling photo they will be taken at 8:20am in the MPA. Please ensure your children are at school at this time and they head straight to the MPA. ALL students are to wear full school uniform. If your child has sport tomorrow they are welcome to pack their sneakers in their bag to change into during this time.

On Friday, 17th May St Joseph's year 6 students came together with 2 other schools, St Mary Mackillop and Our Lady of the Rosary for a Year 6 Formation and Outreach Day. We started the day in the presence of God with a Eucharsit celebration led by Fr Andrew. Our formation day, is a day that challenges our students to explore Pope Francis' call to accompany. We were blessed to have faith filled people share their stories with our students including Eleanor from CYP, Keiran who is an ex-student from Xavier College who shared his story as a group leader on World Youth Day, our outreach partner, Jesuit Refugee Service who organised Maggie to speak about her experience as a refugee. We are excited to see the work that our year 6 students do back in their school communities as they model discipleship and the importance of listening and dialogue.
