On Friday the 10th August our school's Faith Alive Team participated in the Winter Sleep-Out in support of the St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal.
Vinnies Sleepouts provide a glimpse into the realities of homelessness by ‘sleeping rough’ for a night to raise awareness and funds for Vinnies homelessness services. This experience challenged our students' sense of home and offers unique insights into the complex issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
The aim of the night was to help raise awareness of poverty in our community and give our students the chance to work towards a more just and compassionate society. We were thrilled to have a fantastic turn out with around 40 students in attendance.
The students participated in a number of faith based activities which included the packing of all the donations received by the whole school.
Thank you for the generosity all our St Josephs families have shown for such a valuable cause.

On Thursday, St Joseph's was proud to support R U OK? Day. It is a National Day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask 'are you okay?' and support those around us. Both students and staff participated in this day and learnt how to offer support through the four step conversation framework- Ask, Listen, Encourage Action and Check In. Year 5 have had a wonderful day at Scenic World! Students braved the cable car, skyway and railway – all with smiles and success. After a fun morning of adventure, we enjoyed a relaxed lunch in the park and are about to hop on the bus and head home. What a great camp experience it’s been. Please keep a look out for a Compass notification for our ETA for pick up.

Year 5 had an incredible day stepping back in time! Students tried their hand at gold panning, cooked delicious damper, made mud bricks, and even built tents. They explored the museum, listened carefully to our knowledgeable guides, and discovered so much about life in the gold rush era. To top it off, they joined in some old-time games — a perfect way to bring history to life!

Celebrating Our Fathers and Father Figures This morning, we came together as a school community to honour and celebrate our wonderful fathers and father figures. The day began with a delicious breakfast, filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt conversations, followed by a beautiful liturgy where we reflected on the love, guidance, and strength that fathers bring into our lives. With most of Year 5 at the Basketball Gala Day today, things looked a little different for students at school. The morning kicked off with an exciting Mathematics Treasure Hunt, where students worked as a team to solve challenging problems, unlocking clues that led them closer to the final problem. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, problem-solving, and laughter as they raced around the school putting their math skills to the test. What a fun and creative way to start the day!
