On Friday the 10th August our school's Faith Alive Team participated in the Winter Sleep-Out in support of the St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal.
Vinnies Sleepouts provide a glimpse into the realities of homelessness by ‘sleeping rough’ for a night to raise awareness and funds for Vinnies homelessness services. This experience challenged our students' sense of home and offers unique insights into the complex issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
The aim of the night was to help raise awareness of poverty in our community and give our students the chance to work towards a more just and compassionate society. We were thrilled to have a fantastic turn out with around 40 students in attendance.
The students participated in a number of faith based activities which included the packing of all the donations received by the whole school.
Thank you for the generosity all our St Josephs families have shown for such a valuable cause.

Our budding green thumbs from our primary Gardening Club have been hard at work, learning how to care for God’s creation and growing delicious vegetables. From planting to watering and weeding, our students have shown wonderful responsibility as they’ve tended to silverbeet, snow peas, broccoli, and tomatoes. The garden is thriving — and our crops will be ready to harvest very soon! We can’t wait to share them with you.

We’re excited to introduce Loose Parts Play as part of our playground experience. So, what is Loose Parts Play? It’s a creative and open-ended approach to play where students use a variety of materials to build, imagine, explore, and invent. There are no rules or set outcomes—just endless possibilities! 🇦🇺🌺 ANZAC Day Liturgy 🌺🇳🇿 Today our school community came together in a moving ANZAC Day liturgy to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces. Through prayer and reflection, our students paid their respects to those who have served—and continue to serve—our country. 🙏 Together in Prayer for Pope Francis 🙏 With heavy hearts, we join the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, who passed away on Easter Monday. On Friday, we celebrated Harmony Day – it was a wonderful day that allowed us to embrace the rich cultural diversity within our school, and we reflected on the message that “Everyone Belongs.” Our students and staff came dressed in vibrant orange or beautiful traditional cultural attire, proudly sharing a piece of who they were with our school family. The playground was alive with laughter and connection as we enjoyed outdoor activities that brought everyone together in the spirit of fun and unity. At the heart of our celebration was a meaningful Harmony Day Liturgy, where we gave thanks to God for the uniqueness of every person and prayed for a world filled with peace, acceptance, and love. Through faith, friendship, and understanding, we continued to grow as one united community. Thank you to all who helped make the day so special!

On Wednesday, our school community gathered together to pray and reflect on the incredible journey of Christ's sacrifice. Our students beautifully enacted the Stations of the Cross, bringing the story to life with reverence and devotion. It was a truly prayerful and special way for us all to come closer to the heart of the Easter story, reminding us of the love, hope, and sacrifice that define this sacred time of the year. A big thank you to our students and teachers, who made this meaningful refection possible. May Holy Week bring peace and blessings to all!
