Schools throughout Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta took time out from their busy days of learning to celebrate their families.
The week long celebrations saw such schools as St Joseph’s Primary, Kingswood celebrate with the launch of it’s Kingswood Gallery of Fine Arts filled with family portraits for all to see.
Holy Spirit Primary, St Clair community joined together to celebrate their Family Fun Feast Day which began with a Pentecost Mass, followed by a picnic lunch and a range of family activities with all parents and extended family members.
Taylah in 4R said she liked Family Fun Day because she got to spend time with her family and rated it 5 stars out of 5.
While Victoria in 1W said she "had lots of fun with her mum" and enjoyed starting her day with coding and ending it with lots of fun and laughs.
At St Bernadette’s Primary School, Lalor Park, teachers and students dressed in green and had Catholic Care representatives Cathy Hammond and Ashleigh Green come and visit.
Our Lady of The Rosary, Kellyville capped off their week with infant and primary discos. Where a good time was had by all.
The weeklong celebrations allowed teachers and students to think about their families and how much they mean to them, while also donating money to Catholic Care which provides support services and care to individuals, families and communities in need. You can learn more at www.catholiccare.org.

Biblical Micrography in Year 2! Our Year 2 students have been exploring, 'The Great Commission' (Matthew 28:16–20) as part of our learning about the Sacraments and God’s grace. Students first chose a symbol or image connected to the Scripture, then carefully created their design with a word or phrase from the scripture that was important to them. This process encouraged them to slow down, reflect on the meaning of the Scripture and creatively represent their understanding. Jesus reminds his disciples to go out and share the Good News, promising that he will be with us always. This connects beautifully with our learning that God’s grace is a gift, made visible and celebrated through the Sacraments. It was wonderful to see our students combine faith, scripture, creativity and reflection in their beautiful artwork! 🌟

In Science, Year 2 have been learning about forces. Students completed a fair test, investigating the effect of gravity’s pulling force. They concluded that the steeper the ramp, the further and faster a car will travel. Well done Year 2! 🌟

Today we celebrated 100 Days of Kindergarten! 🎉 Our students had an amazing day taking part in lots of exciting activities to celebrate how far they've come in their learning journey. They loved completing a 100 Days scavenger hunt, imagining what they might look like 100 years from now, and creating some very yummy fairy bread 🌈🍞 To top off a fantastic day, we were lucky enough to have a special visit from Joey, which was the perfect way to end our celebrations. We are so proud of everything our Kindergarten students have achieved in their first 100 days of school. We can't wait to watch them continue to learn, grow and shine throughout the rest of the year! ⭐️❤️

Year 6 Voice of Youth Competition On Monday, our Year 6 students took part in the Voice of Youth speech competition. The program provides every student with the opportunity to write, prepare and deliver a speech, while also giving those with a flair for public speaking the chance to showcase their talents. We are so proud of the courage, creativity and confidence shown by all our Year 6 students as they shared their ideas and messages with an audience. A special congratulations to our school finalists Aubrey, Akua and Bianca, who will go on to represent our school in the Cluster final. What a wonderful celebration of student voice and expression. 🤩👏

Our year two students were delighted to welcome Aunty Roz into their classroom yesterday. Aunty Roz shared a range of Indigenous artefacts and stories. This rich learning experience supported students’ understanding of Aboriginal histories and cultures, as they explored the meaning, materials and uses of artefacts for hunting, music and daily life.

Our school orchestra enjoyed their final rehearsal today ahead of their performance on Monday, including a beautiful rendition of Frère Jacques. It was wonderful to see their focus, teamwork and confidence as they brought their pieces together. A special thank you to our stage two audience, who were very impressed with what they heard and provided such encouraging support. We wish our orchestra the very best for their Captivate Arts Primary Strings Learning Exhibition, we know you will make us proud.
