Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system. CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

Our budding green thumbs from our primary Gardening Club have been hard at work, learning how to care for God’s creation and growing delicious vegetables. From planting to watering and weeding, our students have shown wonderful responsibility as they’ve tended to silverbeet, snow peas, broccoli, and tomatoes. The garden is thriving — and our crops will be ready to harvest very soon! We can’t wait to share them with you.

We’re excited to introduce Loose Parts Play as part of our playground experience. So, what is Loose Parts Play? It’s a creative and open-ended approach to play where students use a variety of materials to build, imagine, explore, and invent. There are no rules or set outcomes—just endless possibilities! This type of play: 🔹 Encourages creativity and problem-solving 🔹 Builds collaboration and communication skills 🔹 Supports physical and social development 🔹 Allows students to take risks in a safe, supported environment 🔹 Reflects our belief in the dignity and potential of every child While students are free to explore and create, they are still expected to follow our school expectations and show respect for others and the materials. 🇦🇺🌺 ANZAC Day Liturgy 🌺🇳🇿 Today our school community came together in a moving ANZAC Day liturgy to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces. Through prayer and reflection, our students paid their respects to those who have served—and continue to serve—our country. We remembered with gratitude and prayed for peace, justice, and hope in our world. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." – John 15:13 Lest we forget. 🌺

🙏 Together in Prayer for Pope Francis 🙏 With heavy hearts, we join the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, who passed away on Easter Monday. On Friday, we celebrated Harmony Day – it was a wonderful day that allowed us to embrace the rich cultural diversity within our school, and we reflected on the message that “Everyone Belongs.” Our students and staff came dressed in vibrant orange or beautiful traditional cultural attire, proudly sharing a piece of who they were with our school family. The playground was alive with laughter and connection as we enjoyed outdoor activities that brought everyone together in the spirit of fun and unity. At the heart of our celebration was a meaningful Harmony Day Liturgy, where we gave thanks to God for the uniqueness of every person and prayed for a world filled with peace, acceptance, and love. Through faith, friendship, and understanding, we continued to grow as one united community. Thank you to all who helped make the day so special!

On Wednesday, our school community gathered together to pray and reflect on the incredible journey of Christ's sacrifice. Our students beautifully enacted the Stations of the Cross, bringing the story to life with reverence and devotion. It was a truly prayerful and special way for us all to come closer to the heart of the Easter story, reminding us of the love, hope, and sacrifice that define this sacred time of the year. A big thank you to our students and teachers, who made this meaningful refection possible. May Holy Week bring peace and blessings to all!
