Schools throughout Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta took time out from their busy days of learning to celebrate their families.
The week long celebrations saw such schools as St Joseph’s Primary, Kingswood celebrate with the launch of it’s Kingswood Gallery of Fine Arts filled with family portraits for all to see.
Holy Spirit Primary, St Clair community joined together to celebrate their Family Fun Feast Day which began with a Pentecost Mass, followed by a picnic lunch and a range of family activities with all parents and extended family members.
Taylah in 4R said she liked Family Fun Day because she got to spend time with her family and rated it 5 stars out of 5.
While Victoria in 1W said she "had lots of fun with her mum" and enjoyed starting her day with coding and ending it with lots of fun and laughs.
At St Bernadette’s Primary School, Lalor Park, teachers and students dressed in green and had Catholic Care representatives Cathy Hammond and Ashleigh Green come and visit.
Our Lady of The Rosary, Kellyville capped off their week with infant and primary discos. Where a good time was had by all.
The weeklong celebrations allowed teachers and students to think about their families and how much they mean to them, while also donating money to Catholic Care which provides support services and care to individuals, families and communities in need. You can learn more at www.catholiccare.org.

Good Friday invites us to reflect on the depth of Christ’s sacrifice and the power of selfless love. Through his suffering and death, Jesus showed us what it truly means to forgive, to serve others, and to love without limits. We remember that even in the darkness of the Cross, hope remains, because God’s love is stronger than sin and death. May this sacred day encourage us to live with compassion, kindness, and faith as we journey toward the hope of Easter. 🙏🏻

Our Kindergarten students had a wonderful time at our Kindy Monster Party! The day was filled with excitement, laughter, and lots of learning through play. The children enjoyed a range of fun party games including Pin the Eye on the Monster, Musical Chairs, and a Monster Disco with a disco ball and glow sticks! They also got creative making their very own Monster Biscuits (which were delicious!), and Monster Masks, showing off their wonderful imagination! Our Kindy students worked together during a Monster Scavenger Hunt out on the playground and they had a fantastic game of Monster Bingo. Throughout the celebrations, we also shared and enjoyed a variety of wonderful monster stories, sparking imagination and a love of reading. It was so lovely to see our youngest students engaging, collaborating, and having so much fun together. We are sure everyone will sleep well last night!

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. 🌿 We remember Jesus entering Jerusalem with humility and peace, welcomed with palm branches and praise. As we journey through this sacred week, may we take time to reflect, pray and walk with Him toward the hope of Easter. 🙏⛪️

As part of our Canberra trip, year 6 visited the Australian war memorial, exploring Australian wartime history. They engaged with exhibits and participated in reflections to understand the personal stories behind the conflicts. We all paid our respect to the service men and women who sacrifice so much for us every day.

700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australia’s Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.

NAPLAN: What Parents Really Need to Know
Each March, families across Australia hear a lot about NAPLAN. The National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assesses students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy. But what does it really mean for your child in 2026?
